Phantasmagoria for PC. It was banned in several countries for excessive violence and sexual situations. If you play, you have the option to censor the game *when a particualy brutal scene come on screen, the screen goes black and takes you to the next scene. BUT, the icon is a talking skull and he disses you if you censor the game.

It's a Sierra game created by Roberta Williams. Yes, the woman who created all those wonderful King's Quest games kicked it up a notch here. The story is about this newlywed couple who buys and moves into this spooky Gothic Victorian mansion they bought for almost nothing *uh oh..you know what THAT means >)* Anyway, the husband is taken over by a demon and spends almost 7 chapters trying to kill his wife *your character*

The gane came out in 1995..but it is still one of the creepiest games ever imo. Only Silent Hill rivals it.

Resi 4 had some freak out moments, but resi 2 was the best (or worst. Is fear a positive thing?). There is a part where you leave raccoon city and enter the police station for the first time. Just before you meet the first "Licker" (a mutated zombie) if you stray to close to the window, these hands burst out from a window and grab you. The first time I played it, those hands burst through the window and grabbed me. I must have jumped 3 foot in the air! REALLY SCARY.

Resident Evil 4 for the PS2. First horror/zombie type game I ever played and it did rock, but it also made me cry for mama when playin' late at night in the dark then a freakin' Iron Maiden comes to life right in front of you and starts to knaw on your shin. Spooky.

chinese firedrill. You and your friends go out cruising and when u come to a red light - all the people in the car must jump out and run around it till u get back to the door u were sitting at. Then u get back in the car and drive off when the light turns green!! I really don't recommend this though because the last time i played this with my friends - the driver thought it would be funny to lock the doors when we all got out. I couldn't open my door and so ran around to the other side - the light turned green and my friend did not realize i was not all the way in the car and she ran over my foot!!!!!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!

Phantasmagoria is really creepy, my mother played it and I was too young but I still have some of the images from that game permenantly burned into my head!

Fatal Frame also creeped me out a lot because the idea of ghosts is just something really scary because it's something you can't really fight or destroy. I think that makes for a great game right there!

games as a child:
hunting for ghosts, with a camera and a tape recorder in my friends house that is a big old farm building that had spooky big old doorways and basement and acres of farmland, and old barns. someone hung themselves in the woods at the top of one of the fields and was there for about a month when their groundsman found him, we'd been riding through there all summer and the horses used to get spooked out, it smelled down there anyway because of the hunting shed with pheasants and stuff hanging anyway so fortunately we didn't find him. but looking for the ghosts was bad enough, you convince yourself you've seen and heard things.

computer game wise:
i remember it being doom, i played it recently because it came with the new one (that made me jump at least once) and it was so pants it made me laugh!

when i played fatal frame there were a few bit's like the boy at the window, but my mate was playing it and it was in the dark. i believe in ghosts so they creep me out a bit anyway.

recently it's been condemned, just because of the creepy shop dummies.... i think if you consider how fast your heart races during a game that has to come top at the moment.
