They do speak American, and I speak Canadian, eh. There are many different spellings, etc., not to mention accents. In Canada though there are very few accent differences. Unusual for such a large unpopulated country.
The language is just called English because we want to make them feel good.

Because the English were the first people that settled here. I thought most americans spoke spanish.
