Say you were starting graduate school next summer, leaving your job this month, had no desire to stay where you are now and had enough money to support yourself till about Feb. without working (not rich by any means, though). You are not married and do not have any children. You are in a rut and want to get out of it while enjoying your time off and being semi productive. You see this as a rare chance to take a break before starting an intense graduate program next year. What would you do in the meantime? Would you travel? Where would you go? Volunteer? Doing what? Please be as detailed as possible.

I know its not possible for everyone, but when i had the chance i did alot of volunteer work. I helped build a complex for homeless vets. Than my pastor had a mission trip going to Africa. I jumped on that. I will tell you that was something that i will never forget. Not only did it bring me great pleasure being able to help those who really needed it, but it also made me realize that I did not have it so bad. That is when i stopped bitching and moaning about going to early class and was happy that i was able to get a top notch education.

Travel and take jobs during my travels that would help me with my studies. I may even just want to be a slug and chill on the beach somewhere warm.

personally i would work to save up even more money...but one of my dreams is to travel one day when i am out of school! i would go to italy/spain/france and have the time of my life! i would want to see all the sights and try all the food. stay at the nicest hotels and spend lots of time learning of other people and their cultures. i would also try to learn as much of these languages as possible.
