Paper towel with an iron. Put the paper towel over the wax and place a moderately warm iron over it. As the wax melts the towel soaks up the liquid. PRESTO! The wax is gone.
Now stop lighting candles while you're drinking!

Take a scissor and cut off the piece of carpet with the wax.

get a tea towel, ice and a hot iron
put ice on the wax to make it hard and pick off the dry hard wax.
Put the tea towel on it and iron it. the tea towel will absorb it.
Keep repeating.

Put a papertowel down and iron it and presto. If you don't have an iron I think butter or peanut butter would do the trick. Good Luck!
