When one of my books came apart, I glued it with this glue called gorilla glue. It bonds things really well, but I had to let it sit over night because it takes a while to bond. If you need it right away try instant glue. If those don't work I don't know what to tell you except to get another one. Sorry.

If this is a hard-cover book with a sewn or glued page binding, I'd say just glob on some white glue. I work at a library and that's what we do to fix books when the spines start to separate.

There are some library supply companies that sell book repair products, glues, tapes, etc. made for book bindings. Try Googling: Brodart, Demco, Gaylord.
