Why do people who use the term "NeoCon" ask such dumb questions? Seems to me that a lot of them are actually helping the Republican agenda by spouting ignorance and nonsense.

People fixiated with the NeoCons are the new Neohalfwits. They can be identified by their frothing at the mouth and barking NEOCON...NEOCON at everything. They're harmless but care should be take to keep sharp objects away from them lest they harm themselves. They generally are on the steep downward slope of the IQ bell curve.

Read Kevin Philips American Theocracy. That way you will not sound like an idiot Republican.

Neo-Con is:

Neoconservatism is a political current and ideology, mainly in the United States, which emerged in the 1960s, coalesced in the 1970s, and has had a significant presence in the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. It is today most closely identified with a set of foreign policy positions and goals: a hawkish stance during the Cold War and, more recently, in various conflicts in the Middle East. At times there have been distinct neoconservative positions in domestic policies; in particular, the first generation of neoconservatives were generally less opposed to "big government" and to social spending than other U.S. conservatives of the time, though they also called for significant restructuring of the goals and methods of many social programs.

A Theocon or Theo-con is a conservative who believes that religion should play a major role in forming public policy; both the term and the phenomenon arose in the context of American politics, closely tied to the Christian right. This term first appeared in 1996 in a The New Republic article entitled Neocon v. Theocon by Jacob Heilbrunn. He wrote, "The neoconservatives believe that America is special because it was founded on an idea—a commitment to the rights of man embodied in the Declaration of Independence—not in ethnic or religious affiliations. The theocons, too, argue that America is rooted in an idea, but they believe that idea is Christianity."

It's another gimmick from the left. They want to use it like they have used the race card and the Nazi card to further shut down opposition to their stale ideas. If NeoCon can be linked to "ultimate evil" then when the left begins losing an argument logically, they can call the person a NeoCon and force the person to defend their-self rather than their ideas. It does go both ways in this country. You can still call someone a pinko or commie to shut them down but it is less effective coming from the right (the left has had more practice at the name-calling game).

Great question and a lot of great answers here... except for the one person who said "libtard" ? Where the hell did that come from? I've never heard that from anyone yet. If I did, I suspect it wouldn't be from someone with much intelligence. Neocon seems like a label used to scare Americans into voting left for fear of their "extreme" conservative views.

"Sweet Neo Con" by the Rolling Stones. Check out the lyrics at the site provided, just mind the pop-ups.

But as for the dumb question thing, I suppose it's kind of like how all anorexic blondes say "that's hot" like it was their purpose in life to eternally annoy you since that's the only thing they could get through their heads. It's all in their secret coded language unlearnable to non-blondes.

True, but it does go both ways. Using the term "libtard" doesn't exactly show vast intelligence.

Your name made me laugh btw.

Exactly. I find it hilarious that so many of them get on here and show how ignorant they are. Pretty scary.

What makes liberals different than you and me is this:
Liberals want to use YOUR money to build a government for THEMSELVES to control YOU
mostly because they are so much 'smarter' and 'kinder'
