Instead of putting it in the wash drink it then when the wash is done you'll THINK everything is soft and pleasent smelling. That way the beer won't be wasted but you will.

Okay, this is not so dumb as it sounds, but in all honesty I think your sources is a little confused. You are not adding beer to the laundry, you can however use beer to remove red wine. It works the same as club soda, but dark beer is not recommended.

Can't imagine how that would be possible -- beer stains clothing, especially a dark beer, and smells of alcohol, even when diluted. Don't see the advantage of running around looking like a dingy, smelly drunk, do you -- even if the clothes are soft (LOL!!).

just drink it. the only thing i could imagine beer would do is if you put it in the washer alone then on a hot water cycle just cleans the machine of residue, water stains, lime buildup and anything in the evacuating tubes from the machine.
that's it.. never heard beer could make clothes smell better i'm sure it would make them smell like moldy saltines instead.

that's stupid. dark beer is made out of yale, and all beer has yeast in it. it won't make clothes smelling very good. beer is for drinking not to dump in the washing machine.

bad idea.
your clothes will smell like beer and then you'll get pulled over or your boss will think you are a closet alcoholic. Plus why pour the beer down the drain.
