Even a journey of a thousand miles starts with that very first step. Most of us are either afraid, or not sure, or lazy, or lack the confidence to take even the first step.
Perhaps we are not confident about the law of motion, which states that a body in motion will remain in motion. After taking this first step, the law of motion keeps us moving closer and closer toward our goals, our hopes, and our dreams. So we must make this first step as easy as possible for us. This is where Motivational books come into the picture. They make it easy for us to take that first step.
So in a way, yes, Motivational books do help us gain confidence.

The best BOOK you will ever read would be your own life.
Find out how you lost your confidence in your childhood, how you lost your soul connection, how you stopped trusting the flow of life, in your capability to achieve what your heart wants, and how you stopped believing that you are worth of life's goodness and love.
So once you repair that, your motivation which really is the flow of your spirit through you, will be resurrected.

To paraphrase George Carlin, if you're motivated to get up and go to the store, buy the book, and then read it, you're already motivated. People who can't perform those steps will never be motivated.

no not at all. we need to bring into practise what we have read. thats most important. but each individual is made differently, so whatever is written in a book may not exactly apply to us. we need to know ourselves thoroughly to know our capabilities & our drawbacks. then we should highlight accordingly our plus points & play down where we are lacking or try to improve them.
