started 6 days ago i am very concerned with heavier than normal flow longer lasting cycle with more clotting not many cramps just slight never had before

i got on the depo shot also. i bled for a whole month, so i never went back for a second shot....not worth it to me...i'll stick to condoms

That sounds too familiar... Maybe you should discuss this with your doctor. While my menstrual period lasted for over thirty days, my sister didn't have a cycle for several months. She considered this a "bonus". After thirty days of tampons, I would have considered it a bonus, too. There are so many birth control options, today, it might be time for you to try an alternative. I have been on the depo jab for 4 years now, At first you will bleed and feel uncomfortable but once your body adjusts it's fine. i never bleed, but every now and then a trickle, This is only because my body has adjusted. Keep it up, it's better in the long run. If you are really concerned speak to the nurse.

i just stopped using depo...it was the most awful 6 months of my life. i bled for all but 2 weeks in that time...was a cranky mess...and was losing handfuls of hair at a time!! dont take it again!!!

Mine stopped completely for the entire time I used it. 5yrs.
