In a survey carried out by the State Forestry Administration of China and the World Wildlife Fund (June 2004) it was determined that there are almost 1600 giant pandas living in the wild.

About 1650--I saw it in an article about baby pandas being born a couple days ago.

I hope you know that there are two breeds the black and ehite kind and the kind that is a reddish color and looks very different from the other. they have the same diet. they are both endangered, try looking on the national wildlife federation
