The number on the left covers the signature. The one on the right covers "WASHINGTON, D.C." What is this worth, if anything?

Hi. I am a coin and currency dealer in the Midwest, and here's the CORRECT answer. What you have there is called a "Shifted 3rd print" error, and although it does happen occasionally, it is worth a premium. What's happened is that when the sheet passed through for the printing operation the prints the serial numbers and green seal, the sheet was misaligned, thus the numbers are not where they should be. Your note is worth roughly $30-40 in typical condition.

Hope this info helped.

It sounds like a defective bill. Send it to me, along with a $20 processing fee and I will see if it is spendable. Take it to a numismatic to get an idea of the value. My guess is it might be worth a bit more than $20 (e.g., $30), but is not highly collectible.

It's worth AT LEAST $20. Do NOT spend it! Take it to a reputable coin/currency dealer who can appraise it for you. But remember, if they want to buy it from you, they'll only give you half what it's worth. If you want to sell it for its appraised value, try Ebay.

First off, let's hope it is real. Second, check eBay.
