Times sure have changed.... I can't say I agree with you that we should all wear long shirts or to be covered up like nuns, however, I do agree that a lot of people, specifically the youth today dress like they are in a music video.
While some can pull it off, most can't. There is very little self respect and most people don't realize that more is actually better. You will leave more of an impact on me if you are dressed nice ( I mean, you can be very stylish and be dressed appropriately).
The world we live in today doesn't have much self respect, how do you expect people to have it? If you look at the Taliban's, they are at the other end of the spectrum from U.S.... Is that right? I mean to force their women to be completely covered up? No !
There really is no middle.....

I've often wondered that myself. What I don't understand is this weird (to me) trend of young women wearing clothes that are too tight and young men wearing clothes that are too big. I work on a college campus and this particular 'fashion statement' is everywhere. The guys wear their jeans so big the hems drag on the ground around their feet and the girls wear their jeans (and everything else) so tight the seams are practically bursting. What happened to wearing clothes that fit properly?

Because it's a free world, and it's called fashion lots of women look good in such clothes and have the body's to wear them, some have hang ups about this because they don't look good unless they cover themselves up, know what i mean?????
If you've got it, flaunt it.

People can dress as they wish, but I agree that some styles are strange. I think some women are imitating celebrities who wear these clothes.
What 'fashion statement' are they making? "Look at my belly. Hey, I just paid $100 bucks for jeans with ragged holes"??

Its just fashion- here today and gone tomorrow. I think you should dress as you want but I agree too little clothing makes you look cheap and tacky. I prefer smart, designer clothes.

It the choice thing I think. Some carry it off well but others you just want to buy them clothes so they are covered up. Sometimes its what is available cheaply in shops as well so lots just go with it as the fashionable thing.

i agree in part for example if youve got a very very obese person wearing a belly top and shorts it does make them look rather stupid but it is up to them... i think as long as you feel comfortable in what your wearing than fine but certain places you need to dress accordingly like as a doctor it wouldnt be wise to wear a bikini to work as you would probably cause more deaths from heart attacks......but i can see where your coming from i tend to cover up but i think its down to my own confidence ive actually got a good body but just dont feel comfy in mini skirts and belly tops....each to their own eh!

Everyone has there own 'description' of normal clothes!! Your idea of normal clothes to me sounds like something my granny would wear!!
I'm 27 and to me i love my skinny jeans , stripy tops and my converse boots or flat pointed pumps. . . . . .everyone should feel comfortable in what they wear - what is normal to me may not be normal to the next person.
