I want to pierce my lip, but I want to only have it in for college. Can I take it out when I'm done with college, and will the hole close?

The hole won't close as long as you have it in. Once you are out of college you can take it out and let the hole close. It might hurt a little for a while and it might get infected so make sure you rub alcohol on the outside part of your lip.

Yes it will close up. The time it takes to close depends on two things: firstly the length of time you have it pierced before you take it out and secondly the width of the bar or stud you eventually have in your lip before you remove it completely. You failed to say weather you want the lip to close or if you would prefer it to remain open, but I hope from my answer you can decide what road to take. And now for something completely different. Most lip piercings have the potential to damage both teeth and gums if proper jewelry is not worn, or if the placement of the individual piercing is poor. Using an iodine solution (purchased at place of piercing) will help prevent infection. During the healing process, oral sex or kissing must be avoided to prevent infection.

why do you want to pierce your lip? why is it until you're done with college? Are you worried about fitting in? There you have it... you'd just answered your own question. Love yourself, respect yourself, appreciate yourself, don't ever try to do things that you think people would like. work on your self-esteem and you will be fine.

yes and will usually not scar. i did it for my nose and now you could never tell that i had it

don't do it. pierce your tongue if anything. you can give incredible BJ's w/ a pieced tongue...
