I want ideas on how to make dollhouse dishes that are easy to do

I have found oven-hardening clay to be perfect for this type of project. The brand I have used most often is Sculpey and is easy to find in most hobby shops. After you form the dishes you can bake and then paint them with a design if you would like. I suggest a coating of a high gloss varnish or sealer to make them look like vitreous china. I have also use pre cut wood pieces sold at hobby shops painted and decorated and then finished as above. One of my friends has used small plastic covers from miniature condiment bottles as well. The nice thing about using the clay is the range of color choices as well as being able to make all the different types of dishes to scale and also to make them match whatever theme you have for your dollhouse. I have a set of "fiesta" type dinnerware that I made for some Mexican inspired dollhouses I made years ago. The clay comes in some great colors so you can even make terracotta type dishes/ pitchers and such. I have also used it to make kitchen pots and pans. I use the metallic paints to simulate cast iron, aluminum and stainless steel. Good luck on your project and if I can be of any help please let me know.

That actually sounds pretty normal. I know some dads who just lose it at the sight of seeing their son play with dolls and a doll house but what you describe seems absolutely normal. A fireman and a engineer those are motivational toys. Hell I'm 16 weeks pregnant now and I like the idea if I am having a boy or girl. I have never heard that type of spin on a doll house. It's very creative. I can use that as a tool to teaching my child to clean his/her room, etc. Very informative thanks!

If you drink soda in bottles, carefully remove the liner from inside the lid. You can use it the way it is for a glass plate, or spray it with a good primer and then a color that you like. Do a few test runs to make sure the colors stick, though -- the primer is essential for that!! Use light, even spray. Decorate as you'd like after that. Good luck!!
