The best method for softening your cervix is probably to have sex another option is to take EPO and raspberry leaf. It's also possible that your due date may not be quite correct and it will happen when the time is right. If you go for more then a week they will usually apply a special gel at the hospital which contains the same hormones as semen but in a much higher concentration this can also help speed things up good luck!!

I know how miserable you must be feel about now! Being big and pregnant in the Summer is hard!
The doctor told me to have sex...I did and still didn't go into labor until a week later! During another one of my pregnancy's, my ex mother-in-law told me to take Castro oil....Don't do that! It's nasty, and believe me, not only did it not help, but it upset my stomach!
I know it's hard, but just relax and enjoy these last few days before baby comes along! If this is your first baby, it's not unusual to be late! Most first time mom's never have their baby on time! Pamper yourself....You deserve it! And if you just can't sit and do nothing, wait until it cools down in the evening, and take a really long walk! Good Luck! I hope you have a very healthy baby, and a very speedy labor and delivery!

You really can't do anything to soften your cervix except try and get the baby to drop more by walking around a lot. If you go another few days without the baby coming, you can request that they induce the baby--you really shouldn't go more than one or two weeks past your due date. When they induce you, they give you "pit" which stimulates contractions, which pushes the baby's head down onto your cervix so it softens--but, there isn't really anything you can do except wait until baby is ready!
Good luck!!

Many women go past their due dates my friend. I was due on June 12th & had my son on July 3rd. Yes, it was my first pregnancy. Some may say that the due date was wrong, but it's not always the case. Sometimes babies just come out when they're ready to. As long as the Dr. isn't expressing any negativity towards it, don't worry yourself. I know that you want this bundle of joy to come out, but you must be patient.
Good Luck ;o)

You can try to have sex if you are feeling up to it. Right now, you only have a couple of days left to wait. Your physician SHOULD have a plan of attach at your next appointment. They should do an exam and possibly a sonogram to get an idea of what is going on. Chance that the baby could be breech, which would halt you going into labor. If I were you, I would sit and relax and then attack your doctor on your next appointment!!
Good luck!!

There is nothing much that you can do to start the process. they might have miscalculated your due date. U can walk to help bring the baby down though.
