next year i have to decide in what i have to continue so i am think about 2D/3D animation but i am a little bit confused so i need some advice about programs that we work on ....

there are a few programs on either side that you can dive into.

2D: Definitely should know Adobe Photoshop and Flash to get started. Flash gives you the power to create 2D animation, Games, instructional videos or websites. That is an extremely powerfull program and used in the industry.

3D: 2 Big ones are Maya and 3D Studio Max. You can get into huge debates on which one is better, so I will not here. As well there are Softimage, Lightwave, and more. To accompany these programs it will be beneficial to learn Zbrush and or MudBox (when the full version is released).

Sorry, to say that I do not know about the programs that animators have to work on but in response to the main question, I say that it is an upcoming field with so many channels dedicated to the animations. I too an planning on doing the same course.
