Yahoo Messenger 8.0 only works with Windows XP and if you're trying to use voice with others, they need 8.0, too, or you must open a conference to voice.

If you've downloaded according to Yahoo's instructions, not much else to do. Delete it from puter and download again. I'd recommend choosing version 7.5 instead. Have a brand new Fujitsu Siemens laptop with all bells and whistles, and even if 8.0 works, it screws up frequently. 7.5 doesn't.

You should have the icon on your desktop, double click on this, it can take some time to load, depends on servers and people wanting to use it. Then it should come up asking for you to type in your loginid this is the same as you use to sign in on here or to access your Yahoo mailbox, just put in the log in name and your password and click on sign in, then wait a minute or two and it will open and you will see if anyone has sent invites etc
