Sad fact is that there is a chance that your child may be born with fetal alcohol syndrome or effect. It is caused by mother's drinking through pregnancy. I would recommend that you go and inform your doctor and let him know that you drank when you were not aware of pregnancy, I don't think that there are any tests that can be done to see if this has caused any defects to fetus. I do know that your doctor will recommend that you cease drinking for remander of your pregnancy and if you plan on breast feeding. Congrats on your pregnancy and I do hope that all is well with you and your child.

I'm not proud of this, and defiantly don't like telling it to the world, but maybe it will bring you some comfort.
I was living in Hawaii and was out on my own for the first time (I was 18) and just partying a lot and having fun, and I found out I was pregnant when I was about 12 weeks along. I was terrified, because not only had I been drinking almost every night of my life, but I was drinking the hard stuff. As a matter of fact, I was mistaking morning sickness for hangovers...I was an idiot....Anyway, when they told me I was pregnant, I cried because I was so concerned about my baby! They told me to obviously stop drinking, and they were sure all would be ok...And it was! I gave birth months later to beautiful 10 pound 10 ounce baby boy!
Women defiantly shouldn't drink while pregnant, but the fact is many of us drink and have no clue we're pregnant. They say they can't narrow down just how much alcohol affects an unborn baby, but any case I have ever heard about where they baby has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, the mother drank excessively her whole pregnancy. I really think all will be ok!

I ahve talked to my Dr. about this. I am not a heavy drinker, but before i knew i was preggie, i did have a couple drinks. My Dr. told me, that there has never been any research to prove that drinking very early in pregnancy will actuallt hurt the baby, since no one could possibly know that hey are preggie at that time. However since you are three months preggie, that is a little differnet, my Dr. was talking about the first month when women are still taking their pill and doing lots of non-preggie stuff, simply cause they don't know yet. SInce you are in your third month, i would let your dr know, so that he can be watching for things. SOme can be seen on an ultrasound, but if you are relaly worried, you may want to opt for an amnio-sentisis (spellin?) this is when they draw some amniotic fluid out through a long needle from your abdomen and test it for different things. I hope that all is well, and good luck with everyhting!

Its quite common for women to drink regularly during the early weeks of pregnancy because they don't know. It's incredible how resilient embryos can be against outside factors. I didn't know i was pregnant with my daughter for the first couple of months and drank and smoked as normal, once i foound out i stopped and in may i had a perfectly healthy 7 pound girl. I think you and your baby should be fine just cut it out now and look after yourself.

It is very early on. I would not drink anymore, and let the doctor know. I don't think anything would wrong with the baby. Also, while you are pregnant the doctors say that you can have a drink on occasions, but I would not recommend that.

you should go to the doctor and find out what to do because now your baby might be at risk that could have been avoided but you did not know you were pregnant. Stop drinking and do not smoke
Good luck to you

There is nothing you can do. from here on out, do everything in your power to make sure you have a healthy baby. Stay away from cigarette smoke, don't drink, eat a healthy, balanced diet, and take your pre-natal vitamins. Make sure you go to the doctor when you are scheduled too. Next time, try quitting drinking when you decide to have unprotected sex.

You should be okay, just don't drink anymore. Let your doc know when you go for the check-up. I had a friend who drink a few beers during her pregnancy frequently, I don't think it's right to do that though. Good Luck!!

that all depends on how much and how often. you won't know the effects that it had on your baby till after its born and even sometimes you can't tell till down the road the symtoms will appear if it has effected the baby but if the amount was small the baby should be ok. i'm 36 and i to drank some with my first baby but it didn't effect him he is now 16 heathly hope this helps you
