rabbits hop and not walk because of the way their bone structure is. their joints don't work like that in a dog.

You are right that rabbits have a special way of moving around. They go in jumps or hops, one after the other.

Rabbits have long and strong back legs. They take off on a hop with a big push from their back legs. They land on their front legs and then bring the back legs forward to get ready for another hop.

If you were built like a rabbit, I think you might travel this way, too.

Hi there I am a rabbit breeder and this is a question that no one has ever asked me before to be honest l as far as I know this is the natural way that bunnies get about and to do with there ballance but they do also walk which is quite funny to look at when this happens. I hope this answers your question.

Well, it could be they way the legs are shaped. Yes, you'll see a rabbit walk, but not as often as it hops or runs.

LOL. Rabbits do walk, but humans call it hopping. That's my theory.

Its faster, like when a horse or cheetah runs you see it doing a similar thing, front legs out, both back ones up. Rabbits are teh same.

And they do walk, mainly to fit down small spaces. Its always funny watching mine walk under a table or through his tunnel.

Because a rabbit's body is just unable to walk!

Wouldn't you hop if you were a rabbit?
