As a tall person, i find that most women are about 6-10 inches shorter - I don't think they enjoy "looking up" to tall men. High heels can work but why arn't women taller (or men shorter)?

Is being shorter a problem for women or men?

Growth occurs in spurts. So women and men have different growth spurts. There is a time when the girls are taller than boys, eg at the age maybe 11. That is when the girls have a growth spurt. So when the growth spurts are over i.e at the age of 18 men are taller than women. The existence of shorter men is due to genetics.

Well - everyone is different.

I think a lot of women love to be with a man who is taller than them.

I am turned on by very tall men. My previous partner was 6 ft 5 and I'm 5 ft 5.....

Even the tallest heels seemed to make very little difference.

I was aware of the difference and thought he would LOOK better with a woman who was, say 6 ft tall. But we had great chemistry and we made it work.

I guess men are traditionally the ones who take care of their female partners.....they are the hunters who kill the wild boars....

It all seems cool to me!!

Well there are some woman who are at a monsterous height but they are few and rare and usually become supermodels so most men don't get to touch them. LOL! But woman LIKE looking up. We tend to hate looking DOWN! It's socially acceptable for a guy to be 6 feet tall but it's akward for woman to be. So being shorter is a problem for guys more so than girls.

One of my guy friends is 5'2" and hates it, he feels inadequate and keeps saying he can't get a decent girlfriend because of it. I myself hate being tall, I'm 5'8" and most guys are either my height or even a little shorter. Not too many are much taller than me. I can't wear heels because I suddenly become a towering monster over them!!

I see your point but there are women that are taller. I think it's more of your preference. If you are a women who is 5'7 and like shorter men then you will date shorter men, etc.

I'm 6ft in my bare feet, there aren't many men who don't 'look up' to me!
I used to hate being so tall but now I get a real buzz out of the double takes, especially when I wear 6 inch heels! If any man makes a point about my height I just point out that he is short and insignificant and walk away...

I'm 5'8 and I've been taller than some guys I've dated and shorter than others. Doesn't matter to me and never mattered to the guy.

I'm 6 inches shorter than my bf and we're fine with the height difference. When we hug, he can rest his chin on the top of my head! LOL

historically men need to be bigger, faster and stronger thanwomen to hunt and kill. Women don't need (or didnt need) to do that in prehistoric times.

Women are smaller with a higher body fat percentage so they can have children and feed them.

i like that men are taller thanme..i hate it when im taller. I feel protected by a tall strong guy. yum yum.

Well I am taller than most men, so I can't wear heels. Believe me I don't like being taller than men. I think it intimidates them.
