Maybe the candidates need to be as interesting as the show American Idol. Candidates running for office don't appeal to the younger generation so noone cares. Scary but true.

Very scary. But then you have to remember that most people voting on AI are voting as many times as possible. I voted for Taylor about 40 times over McPhee. Where you only get one vote in the presidential election. Plus, many of the AI voters are 13 or so. Can't vote for the pres until 18.

I'm fairly certain you are allowed to vote more than once for American Idol. There are even "calling stations" for people who are extreme fans dialing hundreds of times for their favourite contestants. You can only vote once for the President.
