when your account was inactive that particualr email address was not in existence and would have made any mail returned to sender

I don't think so, mine got shut down once coz i hadn't used it for ages. I had to re-activate it, when i did it was empty.

you can't becuase account gets deleted once it is shut down.

your emails dont get deleted unless you delete them yourself
