If you meant (p + q)*4 then it's

(4*p + 4*q) (distributivity)

If you meant (p + q)^4 then it means

(p + q)*(p + q)*(p + q)*(p + q)

which is

p^4 + 4*(p^3)*q + 6*(p^2)*(q^2) + 4*p*(q^3) + q^4

(p + q)^4

(p + q)^2 * (p + q)^2

((p + q)(p + q)) ((p + q)(p + q))

(p^2 + 2pq + q^2)(p^2 + 2pq + q^2)

p^4 + 2p^3q + p^2q^2 + 2p^3q + 4p^2q^2 + 2pq^3 + p^2q^2 + 2pq^3 + q^4

p^4 + 4p^3q + 6p^2q^2 + 4pq^3 + q^4
