"Spirited Away"

Not sure if you've seen it, it's about Chiyuu's journey through a surrealistic landscape of a Japanese mythological nature in order to save her parents, whom became pigs when they partook of the food in that world.

It's a really deep film, and I doubt if I fully comprehend it; but it's a good, moving show that is not so arrogant as to demand that you pick up on everyaspect of the storyline.

The Passion of the Christ.
My church had arranged the special showings at the movie theater. I am glad about that, because i knew from the controversy that it was going to be a graphic movie and I do not do very well with that.
f there was any other way to go to the Father's House than through Jesus, God would not have let Jesus suffer so much.He was beaten so bad so I can be ensured that all of my sins are covered by His sacrificial death...I only have to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

There are too many to just select one. I prefer older movies, suc as:

- Adam's Rib

- The Odd Couple

- Some Like It Hot

- Stalag 17

- Bridge on the River Kwai

- Dial M for Murder (and other Alfred Hitchcock movies).

But also newer movies:

- Quiz Show

- Nanny McPhee

- Nine Queens (Argentinian movie)

- Office Space

- Amadeus

- Trading Places

- Coming to America

And so on and so forth.....

There are so many! One of my favs is Independence Day, because of all the devastation those pesky aliens caused. Another is The Untouchables, because it was an entertaining, but not factual, account of the downfall of Al Capone. Twister was cool because I like chasing tornadoes. I could go on and on. I love movies, all kinds of movies. The Liar, The Postman Always Rings Twice, The Notebook, The Life of David Gale (GREAT MOVIE), etc.

The Stand by Steven King. I can watch that movie over and over and never get tired of it. I became hooked by the entire cast. (Gary Sinise is my favorite) Just something about the whole story of the fight between good and evil. I jump out of my chair everytime a scary scene comes up. Mother Abigail's faith she has in God throughout the entire movie. I could go on and on about The Stand. I think it is the best movie of all.

It's not the absolute best (there's about 5 or 6 movies tied for that spot), but Escaflowne is really good. The animation is very well done, the soundtrack is incredible, and the plot and character development are impressive.
(It helps that Paul Dobson and Kirby Morrow are in it, too)

"Dances With Wolves"...great story presented in great detail about a man who leaves his former life behind to start another one, finding life-long friends and true love along the way, fighting for survival, and learning how to live a new life in a new culture. Add a beautifully moving musical score and incredible location shots and voila! What's not to like about that?

OK, I'm older than most of your respondents, so my perspective will be somewhat different.
