General life style is about the same. Taxation in England is terrible. Worse than USA. They pay a fortune to keep the royal free loading Windsors in Buckingham Palace.

I have lived in both so can categorically say the USA, that's why so many of us fight so hard to ensure we do not go down the path of the British.
No American would find acceptable, the fact that, THIS IS A FACT, that in one day, you are recorded by up to 320 cameras. Nearly every road has a camera, shops, housing estates, are monitored. Taxes are hidden rather than clearly stated, Charges to park your vehicle outside your property, Gas at the quivalent of 9 dollars/ gallon. Unprecedented police powers where you can be arrested at will. No give me the good old USA any day.
We think Bush is bad, at least we have the constitution and ways and means to restrict the powers of a president. Blair went to war with Iraq, despite his Government, let alone his parliament's say so. Britain is run on a series of Statutes, they do not have a written constitution so, a Government can and does change laws at will.

Oh wait,..I dont think Britain has quite the welfare system we do, they may have to work there, so screw that idea.Looks like we are stuck with em

There's good and bad in both. In Britain you feel as if you're part of history. In America you plan for tomorrow and think history is a boring subject in school. Britain has great authors (especially of mysteries); America has great movies. The tax burden is higher in the UK, but the health insurance is better (although American get healthcare even if they're poor it's called Medicaid). Americans get to drive their car, the British have to take the underground (if it shows).
Personally, I'd love to split my time in both countries.

I have never been to Britain but I wanna go so bad.
I think that the Brits because they are such a older country are more engaged in politics and to me thats a great thing. I love their system and how the Prime Minister must get grilled by the body of government like once a week.
The US is fast paced everywhere you have to work to live. And its only getting worse I have 0 clue on the scene in Britain. But to vacation is rare unless you are wealthy. Most of Americans have no health insurance, so to get injured really kills an American because it stops us from working, plus the medical bills are unbareable!
But we sure have vacation spots! :)

Hmmm tough choices. I've only been a visitor of Britain so I only have the that prospective. Love the people, the culture, history and the ability to take a weekend trip to Europe. But heard that income tax is nuts and gas prices are even worse there than here.

Uk without question
If u want to live till ure 30 i suggest living in the UK. America should be wiped off the face of the planet, and is a complete insult to any living human ever lived. Any cuntry that supports the use of guns for self defence, has to be pretty thick, And as for bush well i cant be arsed with that dumb ****.
