There's nothing wrong with staying at home, cooking a candlelight dinner, turn the phone off, and just relax and enjoy each other's company and uninterrupted conversation! Take a picnic basket and go to the park. It doesn't cost a dime to enjoy each other, and there's no reason you absolutely have to go somewhere, though it is always nice to get away when it can be afforded as well. As long as Grandma's watching the baby, why not catch a movie together? A dinner out someplace you've never been to? (provided you have the funds to do this?) It doesn't need to be complicated! Go visit an area beach together?

Well dear, money is nice but it's not everything. Why not finding a nice, quiet place for just the two of you?? A place to talk and just spend time together. Re-discover some of the things that brought you together in the first place. Talk about how your met, your first date, your dreams together...
These things don't cost anything and can be some of the most memorable things in a relationship. Think about it. How often does a couple (especially in a busy family life) just get time to actually talk and have nothing else distract them??
I'm sure there's a park or lake nearby you could visit. Or even the place you first met, if that's not too far away, even a special restaurant or the place where he asked you to marry him. Think outside the box and make it a weekend to remember.
And hey, if baby has come along, it's probably time for some sweet catch-up lovin, if ya get my drift... *wink*
Good luck, hon. :)

If you want to get away you'll have to spend at least a bit.
But if the baby is sent away to Grandma's, you have a cook-in, live-in, love-in, weekend listening to music and enjoying each other. If you must go out, be tourists in your own city. You'd be surprised how much you have not seen (assuming this is not a one-horse town, of course.).
AND- since your husband has the week off, how about if he does some casual jobs for three or four days, and then you can afford a motel in some nearby place for the weekend?

You could just stay home and keep the baby with grandma. Rent movies, cook together, feed each other, and just spend time together is an option. Go dancing at a local bar, and maybe go to a nice place to dine one night. If you really want to leave the house, and go out of town. There are a lot of hotels that are cheap for the night. You need to figure out exactly how much money you can afford to spend is the main thing.

My husband and I like to go camping. It's not for everyone, but we find it romantic. Outdoor activities are often inexpensive - taking walks, picnics in a park can be really relaxing and romantic. If you have a baby you might not find a lot of time for deep conversations. I think the most important thing is just being together. Enjoy your weekend!

You can create a romantic getaway right in your own bedroom! If there is a TV in there, Get rid of it..buy a soft red light, or light some fragrant candles to set the mood..put on your sexiest Victoria's Secret lingerie, and a pair of stiletto heels. Put up posters of Rome, Paris, Brussels...or of any place you would love to visit together...add some of your favorite love songs..a bottle of red wine then greet him at the door. Lead him to your Romantic week end getaway..and voila...

Go Camping. Make a nice romantic campfire and just sit and relax and enjoy each others company. It's usually only 10 bucks to pitch a tent. That's what my husband and I did for our honeymoon.

My boyfriend and I use the grandparents to go hiking in the mountains. We have very little money, but it's nice to take a couple of hours and get away. Any state park would help you get away and get back to nature. You also learn things too!

Your home is your comfort zone. I think you sould use things from around the house to make things interesting. Outfits, decorations, music, candles, romantic meals. Use creativity and watch Tradings Spaces to get ideas for useful things to use around the house.
