SEEK A DOCTOR'S ADVICE. Stay away from Yahoo answers to get your solution-this is medical.

I had the some of the same trouble as your wife. I am allergic to latex and birth control messes me up for various reasons. I have tried 7 or 8 different kind of BCPills and no luck with any of them. My doc says I am one of those weird and wonderfuls who just can't take it. Probably like your wife. Unless you guys are willing to look at some form of permanent birth control (ie vasectomy or tubal ligation) you are risking pregnancy. My husband and I have three children (all planned), but are now pregnant again (unplanned).

Diaphrams work, but not nearly as well as other forms of birth control. You should really use a spermicide with it, but if your wife is allergic to condoms, she (like me) is likely also allergic to spermide and diaphragms.

One alternative we did find was polyurethane condoms. Unlike latex condoms they don't typically bring about the same allergic reaction. On the downside, the are EXPENSIVE!!! But if you don't want to get pregnant, I guess it is a price you would be willing to pay.

I did some research into IUD's and decided that for me, it wasn't worth the risks I found associated with them. Talk to your doc about it if you are thinking of going this route. A friend got pregnant twice with IUD's. One of her babies was born holding the IUD in her hand!!!

Good Luck!

If she's allergic to condoms, she'll probably have a problem with a diaphram. They work but not 100% either -- not only are they made out of a latex material but the cream you use with it is pretty strong stuff and she could have a reaction to that too.

Lambskin condoms are excellent for those with a latex allergy...
Depo-Provera shots are good BUT it takes a while to get back to normalcy after the shots are stopped...I have been off the shot for 6 months and have had 2 periods!!!
VCF film is good, not as messy as the foam and it lasts up to 3 hours...
Sterilization is best, IF no more children are wanted..My hubby and I are BOTH getting 'fixed' so HOPEFULLY we will be double protected...
OF COURSE the best 100% form of birth control is abstinence!!

GOOD LUCK!!

You could try VCF foam. Its over the counter stuff. I know you can find it at wal-mart. I have been using if for 8 years now. Some people like it some don't. Try everything at least once. If nothing works well I guess she will have to get her tubes tied or you will have to do something on your end. Good Luck with this one.

What about an IUD? Does all birth control mess her up, because sometime you have to try a couple different ones before you find one that works. There is a low hormone patch too, try that. Good luck.

You better get to a doctor with your wife because this woman is trying to get pregnant whether she knows it or not. IUD's work, as do natural condoms. There are many alternatives.

Find non-latex condoms. With the advancement of technology of making non-latex items, surely, condoms would have come on the market. Good Luck!

If you guys are not planning on any kids or ... on no more kids and plan to remain married until death, then you can try a vasectomy.

It is a simple out-patient operation and you are good to go in about a week.
