LL Cool J is a good choice on which I would have to agree but it is also Ice T. On Law and Order SVU, with Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay, he is great on that show!
Ludicriss is also becoming a pretty good actor as well as Ice Cube (for Crash for the Ludicriss and Ice for Boyz in the Hood)
and Will Smith, for Independence Day, I, Robot and Ali.
There is 5 I thought of right there.

I agree with those that said Ludacris, LL Cool J and Will Smith, but the surprising one for me is Whitney Houston. She is so natural in her performances (The Bodyguard, Waiting to Exhale, The Preacher's Wife), so she never looks like she's acting. I really hope she gets her act together, sobers up and comes back to singing and acting. Such a talent is a terrible thing to waste.

While LL CoolJ did a great performance in that shark movie (can't think of the name, sorry) I love to watch Ice T in Law & Order SVU - he's got it together, he's a really good actor! Since no one else mentioned him, I think folks have kinda forgotten about him, but I really do think he's doing a great job as an actor & his performances are not getting the attention they should.
