It used to be called "Manifest Destiny", now it is called "global hegemony". The same people who were running the country during the time of manifest destiny in this country, are in fact cut from the same cloth as those who are now presiding over the world. This stewardship has been passed down from fathers to sons and grandsons. One of the tools in their toolbox has been the dehumanization of their enemies. They portray them as savages, killers, and criminals, then it is much easier to go after them. After the wars have been won and the lands have been taken, the leaders and the co-conspirators skim off the top the vast majority of the treasures for themselves, and leave the bottom 10% to their worker army's.

Don't recall any period in our history where the Native Americans were referred to as a "culture of terror," but I do remember the former U.S.S.R. being depicted as such. The only reason I can think of for calling the Soviet Union a "culture of terror" is the fact that the former Communist regime was bent on world domination. Their attitude was the world would become communist either by capitulation or by force. We kept up the arms race with them for so long because they proved on more than one occasion that they would use military force to take over other countries, so we had to have the numbers and the power to keep them from attempting a hostile takeover here and in Western Europe. Now we have the Muslims, whose ideology states that anyone who is not a Muslim is an infidel and must convert to Islam or be killed. Not even the so-called "peaceful" Muslim leaders in the U.S. can argue this. They've basically admitted that their religion is also bent on world domination. See the problem?

Uh, the USSR WAS a nation of terror. Just ask the Hungarians or Czechs or Ukranians or Afghans or the Germans or Poles or the few German WW2 prisoners who managed to survive the Soviet POW camps.

Read about the gulag system where political dissidents were sent to die a slow death of malnourishment while performing slave labor.

As for Muslims, it is not all Muslims, but let's look at what Hamas and Hezbollah and alQaeda, etc have done - brutal and indiscriminate murder of innocent civilians. Let us look at instances of Muslim violence the world over - Philippines, Bali, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, the Balkans, Egypt, Somalia, Algeria, Libya, Sudan, Spain, France, England, US, Canada. You can strive to contradict all this evidence and portay all Muslims as peaceful or something - but does it not give you any pause when it seem that wherever Muslims are, violence follows, surely as night follows day?

Regarding the Indians, they did slaughter colonists and pioneers. They did fight for the French and then the British against the colonial and then US people, respectively. They were far from the innocents that some would have us believe. This does not absolve this country of what they did to the Indians. But that is all history now, and cannot be changed.

Propaganda may work well when sitting at the coffe house, but don't try to gloss it over on all of us.

The Soviets were terrorists. Look at North Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Angola, Mozambique, Algeria, Bulgaria, etc, etc.

"We" are not depicting Muslims as terrorists. We are depicting terrorists as terrorists. This isn't a war on Islam and the sooner people like you quit swallowing the Kool-Aid and calling it that the better. That kind of idiocy breeds ignorance and propagates exactly what people like bin Laden want...

Native Americans were never considered terrorists. If anyone in this world has a right to ***** its Native Americans. They have nothing to do with current policies of the 20th and 21st centuries

The USSR was never depicted as a "nation of terror" but as what they were - a Communist Regime. One whom hundreds of thousands of its citizens went to great lengths to try to leave and were not allowed to - even needing travel visas to leave on vacation, and not allowing a whole family to vacation together so they wouldn't make a break for it. State criminals were not tried, merely arrested and held.

"depicting muslims as the nation of terror" - There is no one Nation in the middle east that is totally responsible right now (since afgan & iraq have been taken care of) There are groups of Muslims within each country that will strike when and where they choose to cause whatever damage they can.

This did not start in 2001, it started in 1978 - between 1978 and 2001 there were 7,581 terrorist attacks by that "peaceful religion" on targets worldwide. For the last 30 years we have been faced with an enemy that has no borders and do not care how many women, child and non-combatents they kill or maim.

As far as hitting back at them - we kill their women and children because they hide amoung them instead of sending them to a safe area. Americans are going to have to suck up seeing dead kids on the nightly news because this is the war the Muslim extremists have brought to us. They do not want our land or prosperity - they want us dead because we do not follow their religion.

Because we were correct, plain and simple. But you're definitely wrong in your belief, "always calling whoever that opposes our thoughts and ideaologies terrorists". The Indians nor the Soviets were NEVER called terrorists. And why say "us Americans", I don't want to be included. I suggest further research on your part.

You should have come up with better examples. There are plenty out there. Soviet Union was, by all accounts, a nation of terror.
I've never seen Muslims being depicted as a "nation", except on Yahoo.

I totally agree. Remember the times when we use to "oh those damned commies!"? As a Muslim i can tell u this goes deeper into religions of Islam and Judaism. I simply think America as of now is a puppet to Israel. If u want to know more u'd havto go deeper in those 2 religions.
Once again sarge i ask u not to comment on something that u dont know(Islam)
