I know that dealing Villanueva freaked some people out, but it was the right move. He's a good player, but I think T.J. Ford is what we needed. I can see the Raptors doing well without Charlie, but I wouldn't want to see Calderon or Darrick Martin running the point.

There also seems to be a lot of hand-wringing over the European flavor of the team, but I believe Colangelo knows what he's doing. I like the Bargnani pick, especially given the weak choices coming out of college this past season. I think he could be a bigtime scorer in the NBA, although he needs to work on his defense.

I think we've got a good nucleus with Ford-Bosh-Bargnani, and getting Nesterovic was a good move. He's not an All-Star or anything close, but at least he's a viable center. This season might be a tough one with some growing pains, but I believe the team is set up nicely for the future.

I liked the TJ Ford trade a lot. Charlie V is a solid player that can stretch the defense, but he really doesn't have a place on the team. Bosh is manning the power forward spot so the only way to get the two of them on the court is to play small. This leaves less minutes to go around. Ford is a true point guard, which should help the team a lot, considering it had more of a scoring point guard in Mike James last year. I think the benefit of the Bargnani draft choice hinges on whether he can play small forward or not. If he can prove to be quick enough to guard the more athletic swingmen in the east then I think this was a great choice, as it will provide the raptors with the perimeter scoring to complement Bosh inside. If, however, Bargnani's true position ends up being power forward (like dirk), then the Raptors will face the same problem they had with Charlie: A promising player that will play out of position and play less minutes than he should.

I'm really revved up about the 2006-07 season for the Raptors. Bryan Colangelo has done a superb job in the off season. First, by securing Chris Bosh. Next by acquiring Fred Jones, T.J. Ford and Rasho Nesterovic. By getting Andrea Bargnani first overall and signing Anthony Parker, Uros Slokar and Jorge Garbajosa (all international stars) it will definately be one of the most exciting seasons since 2000-01.

I'm kind of pissed off because I'm a huge Pacers fan and a huge Fred Jones fan, know the Raptors have Fred Jones.

I'll get over it, I always root for the underdogs so if the Raptors make the playoffs I'm with them. (but if the Pacers make the playoffs I'm for Indy)

not bad, I liked the Bargnani draft choice. I personally would've liked to see Morrison go #1, but this was a good pick either way for the Raptors. Don't expect Dirk like numbers, expect better.
