many many videos that follow lyric lines; as long as the lyric is a narrative, the odds are that most unimaginative video ideas will follow that story. the most original narrative video i can think of is "Just" by Radiohead....the ending is both killer and predictable, go figure...although the references to the lyrics in the song are at best obscure
Apparently they had the video all figured out when they got a call from some crazy guy who explained his idea over the phone. They hired him and made the video. And it's brill.

Offhand, more country music than anything else. Reba McIntyre videos have a storyline...like "The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia" or "Fancy". Garth Brooks had "Thunder Rolls" which dealt with infidelilty and spouse abuse.
