Someone says the test gets an incomplete view of IQ. So, which would be a complete one?

Technically, they meet the standard of "genius," but they may not be living up to their potential. It's like having a measuring cup. It's just a container until it's filled with something. If they just sit and brag about their IQ, without doing anything with it, they don't have anything to brag about.

Well you need to have a genius IQ to pass the test.
Mine is high enough to give it a try but I can't see any advantage other than bragging rights.
I prefer to be low key so as not to offend others. I let people do things their way unless asked for help.
My employers are usually surprised when I start solving problems for them.
I try to keep my feeling of superiority in check. I was hated in grade school for knowing all the answers so I learned to play dumb. It helps me a lot in life to be smarter than someone who's trying to scam me.
I'm not rich and I don't want to work that hard. I would enjoy winning the lottery but without a college education or the money to invest in a business I'll never make the big bucks.
I have everything I want already. A nice home and a collection of antique cars and trucks. And many good friends. All I need now is another wife. But girlfriends fill the need till the right one comes along.

There are those (cynicism would say "those" are the ones who tried and didn't make it) who say the only thing passing a mensa test indicates is an ability to pass mensa tests. And then there's the oft-asked question: "If you're so smart, why ain't you rich?". It may be precisely because they are "smart" that they aren't "rich". To the extent that their smarts are perceived by others as making them "boat-rockers", they may not get on as well in whatever their chosen field (otherwise known as "success favours the norm"). Personally, I view mensa membership as akin to being 7ft tall. It's a physical trait which the individual didn't ask for which they can use, or not, to their advantage.

I have a close friend who is Mensa and I respect the heck out of him and yes, I consider him to be a genius.

I don't know simply because some of the most intelligent people in the world either had learning disabilities,or a low IQ.Look at Einstein,he is a prime example.

Good for them. I don't have their intelligence but I do have common sense. Either is fine though they don't often walk hand in hand. Just my not-so-brainy thoughts.

Of course they are.. top 2 percent. As far as their 'group' I think they should get over themselves.
