If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Maintenance is the key.Diet and do exercise.Visit a Dematologist. Acne cannot be cured but can be prevent with effort and patience.Clean your face with a mild cleanser, and scrub your face using a mild scrub 2 times a week. For me, a low concentration of Glycolic gel and Salicylic gel works.

Unfortunately proactive does not work on some people. Either increase your epidermis skin turn over with tretinoin or minimize inflamation with 10% benzoyl peroxide before scarring occurs. Usually the hormones become stable at late 20's.

My daughter uses Proactive and it keeps her face free of acne, unless she forgets to use it. Its a great product but make sure you use it every day. Also you can now buy it at most malls.

I personally tried everything, including proactive but it didn't work. I started using clearasil ultra, it's advertised to clear up your skin in three days but it takes a little longer but it definatly works. I wash my face with dove soap and then put on the cream, its a little expensive but definatly worth it. just be careful b/c if you get any on your clothes they get bleached.

Do face remedies at home everyday and always keep your face clean. That's it.
