I do believe that there is sin. The bible says no one is perfect and is come short of the glory of God. So everyone has sinned. But God sent his Son, Jesus to die for our sins. It's wonderful!

Ok, yes, it can be totally personal to you or it also can hurt someone else. Most people don't realize that their 'personal sins' do hurt other people. It's just the fact. Whatever you do, affects other people. Some people don't believe that, but it's so true. It can affect them in a good way, (by making someone smile by telling them goodmorning) or you can affect them in a bad way, (like frowning, it can make you wonder if you did something and you are frowning at them, and you may just be frowning and not even thinking of that person).

I used you as not pointing fingers at you, but maybe I should said when I frown and so forth. Oh well, I won't retype that again! :P

Have a great day!

Yes, I believe in sin. Yes, sin can be entirely personal, and not only does it not have to hurt anyone else, no other human being need even know you've committed it.

Sin is between an individual and God. And, while there are sins that involve others, the one mortal sin is denying God's existence, which is something only the individual would know of.

I believe in sin, and I also believe that what might be sin to one person might not be sin to another.

Romans 14:15-16 (from the New Living Translation) "And if another Christian is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don't let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died. Then you will not be condemned for something you know is all right."

(P.S. I do not believe sin has to hurt someone else to be considered sin.)

Sin is that which turns you away from God. It need not hurt another person. It need not be violent. Sin simply means mistake.
An example of sin that hurts no one else is greed. It keeps me focused on the money (or whatever it is I'm greedy for) and turns my attention away from God.

i don't believe in sin as i assume you mean it - the religious sense. i don't believe that a person's actions, even the insignificant ones, are the judge of their eternal fate (assuming one exists).

i do, however, believe wholeheartedly - through empirical observation - in the presence of "sin" in terms of evil or negative deeds. it's everywhere in the world and those who can't see it are either blind or trying very hard

and i don't believe that sin can be personal - i would consider "sin" (as i define it - a largish-scale negative act) inflicted upon the self to be more appropriately named as "stupidity" or the like

to sum up my concept of sin: i might call murder a sin in the sense that it's bad, but not in the sense that it could be expected to send the committer to hell (or any equivalent). and i wouldn't call self-inflicted negative acts to be sin
