I'm 32 and have 4 kids. I have to have a hysterectomy in October. I'm a little worried. Can anyone help me out with your experiences in this situation?

I'm 43 and I had a partial. It's a wonderful thing! Kept one ovary so I don't get the mood swings. No more period. No more cramps. No more tampons. Pads. But still wanna be with my husband and don't need to take birth control. Where's the drawback?

It depends on wether or not you're having a whole or a partial. My mother just had a partial. They took the uterus and fallopian tubes but left the ovaries. She has no period, she has no pain, and she's not going to have to take hormone therapy.. she had it done 5 months ago.. and she's happier than she's been in a long time.

I HAD A TOTAL HYSTERECTOMY IN 2000. I T WAS DONE VAGINALLY SO THERE WAS NO ABDOMINAL INCISION. LITTLE PAIN, IF ANY. I WAS HAVING A 3 WEEK PERIOD EVERY MONTH. I USE HORMONE PATCHES WITH GOOD RESPONSE. MY ONLY REGRET? THAT THE MAKERS OF KOTEX NO LONGER SEND ME A CHRISTMAS CARD FOR BEING THEIR BEST CUSTOMER. LOL GREATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD IN MY OPINION.
