Wireless 'b' has the longest range between b/g, wireless 'n' has the best of both worlds and a reasonably good range. I have tested it where I'm working at it goes about 100M through a retail store through lots of different metal isles. Its a good technology but you need both ends of the wireless system both router and card in the laptop to take full advantage

If you want to increase it and don't care about the speed, decrease the speed. The slower the connection, the longer the range.
