It seems every time someone says anything negative towards the African American community the question will be deleted, why? Can't we debate issues that face all of us Americans, and beyond? I understand that there are some ignorant racist people on here but that's their choice and freedom of speach. We should just ignore them or debate with them not ban them because you don't agree. I don't understand why this is such a touchy subject when we can talk negative about Jewish, Arab, Chinesse, and Christian/western cluture.

It's just crazy that I can say I feel bad for the young black community. They are mislead and don't have enough possitive roll models. Many refuse to adapt to the economic capitalistic system we work in and that drains our tax dollars etc. I just wish we could influence more young blacks to continue education and make a career for themselves. It's just sad that some of them had the same oppurtunity but because of influence and conditional experience they chose not to take it. I'm speaking on statistics and my view of modern America. I think the rap culture has destroyed the black youth. Not that rap does that but the culture created and embraced by rap does.

"Humanist" good response, I just have seen a few on here that got deleted and I didn't find them to be inapropriate. I understand why people get upset, I have seen people on here completely devour religions with the most ignorant and hate driven speach and it will stay up.
PS - "Humanist" those are good questions you asked, thanks for asking about them.

I don't despise black people individually. I just speak of their culture and as a community. I think it's good to debate issues even about race. It helps us understand where peoples views are coming from. As to answer your question about what have black people done to me? I will say that many black individuals have done wrong to me or my family and friends however I don't hold that against black people because I know everyone is an individual and acts upon it. I just see trends within the young black culture which is a terrible influence. I'm not talking about a race as a whole. I'm talking about a noticable portion of the community who behaves in the same manner.

I think that it depends on who is "watching" and complaining. I think that people do not really look and try to see if the person asking a question is just trying to be mean, nasty, and racist or is truly ignorant.
I will note that discussion of the "n" word continued on-line. It seems that if anyone has questions and wants to understand more about race and ethnicity they are deleted, though.
Someone asked a really interesting question about why many Israelis are so light-skinned compared to others in the region. There are interesting answers and you can talk about the diaspora and the Zionist movement and the creation of Israel and yet this was apparently deleted to my frustration as I spent much time on this.
Someone had an interesting question on race and ethnicity and there was a chance to educate someone which I saw but it disappeared in a flash before my very eyes.
In Chicago a decade or two ago Jewish leaders supported the right for anti-Jewish Klan members to march in Chicago because they said that if they stop them they would be the same as the Klan and Hitler.
As you have noted someone put on 14 "questions" insulting and offensive to Christians - really silly too. One incited hate. Only one could really open debate. And, yet only one was removed and it was not the one inciting hate but the silliest! Had it been about Jews they all would have been classified as "inciting hate" and promptly removed. As it was, I have had to complain twice.
I will note that I have been told that the major purchasers of rap are white middle class kids. I think it has had a negative effect on all races, including Arabs in French housing projects. And, of course, not all rap is violent and bad just much of it.
A good percentage of black Americans have moved into the middle and even upper classes but pass by unnoticed as they are not involved in rap culture.
And, black Americans have the right to be very angry and happily most are not. They were liberated in the late 1960s and 1970s into an already declining US economy as documented by William J. Wilson in
"The truly disadvantaged: The inner city, the underclass, and public policy" (1987) Integration actually had negative effects on many African American businesses, as he notes, as well.
So, America has betrayed its promises to black America. But, the vast majority of African Americans are doing the best they can - often successfully- within a failing US economy. And, even though we are still the biggest and best economy - if you have a job - it is excluding more and more people. The US economy has no place for me either. And, I am bitter as I was "worth" more as a college student than with three graduate degrees. The US has betrayed its promises to all of the poor and middle classes whatever the race or ethnicity. With the current US debt it will only get worse.

I just wanted to put in my two cents if I am repeating something that has already been said sorry. I just wanted to comment on the rap music thing Black males dont live their life by the music the music live because of them. So when you here 50 cent saying he got shot 6 times thats happens everyday selling dope all that didnt come from the music. The music started cause hey wanted to let the world know this is how we live. They build more n more projects knowing whats going on. You cant blame it on the music. It starts with Black Mothers. Alot of black mothers have the children when they are young (so do whites mexicans asians and son) but we dont have that counter-part that father that upstanding man to help us raise our sons so they find their fathers on the corner some older guy trying to pull them into the drug game and all the useless drama. The music has nothing to do with it. I agree we should be able to debate these issues without being racist. I have my ow black male to raise and i'm fully focused on him. I am a single mother but I refuse to have to or 3 jobs and never see my child and watch daycare or a grandparent raise him. I went to school got my education and I make very good money doing what i do. I just hope that I am setting a good example for young black women raising raising their sons. I also feel sorry black people and I'm black lol. I wish you could be black and walk in my shoes for one you'd be blown away disgusted. It's a mess but how do we fix it?

Racists don't debate they just spew hate. You make it seem like only blacks are getting ppl like that deleted. You are correct that everyone has the right to freedom of speech BUT when someone puts something out on a message board or yahoo answers to incite contempt then those who are offended have the right to report them and get them deleted.
In other words you have the right to say whatever you wish but there is always going to be someone out there that doesn't like it. Any issue can be debated. A racist's purpose is not to debate just piss ppl off. So why not just click Report when you read something that you don't like? Choose not to respond.

This is not true. I often pose questions about blacks and they are not deleted. My questions on Jews are normally deleted.
Below are two examples of my 'contentious' question on Blacks.

What you will find are that so many of us are full of excuses and REFUSE to face reality. A bit precious when the facts are laid bare.
I will absolutely defend your right to ask any question, as you are entitled to.
Edit: ESPforlife, Please note how I am attacked. The reality is I live in these communities, I know what is going on. The apathy and lack of Esteem is palpably clear to all that want to be honest. People think if you pretend we are all equal and our output is equal the problem goes away. I travel the world in my business, UK, Holland, Belgium, West Indies, and I can tell you it is endemic. Please do not desist in asking those questions and it is not Racist to speak of the truth, just like I defend my right to say the Israelis in conjunction with US and UK help are murdering Lebanese civilians.

The only reason a question might be banned, would be if it was derogatory in nature of how it is ask. If the question is worded correctly, then it should not be banned. But attacking any one because of their color is wrong. You can have your thoughts and free speech, but try to be Christian about it, and that will soften the words you choose. You know, every race has it's rotton apples.

Apparently, some and not ALL black Americans feel that white people owe them something. I have no idea what it could be. We give out jobs they are not qualified for because a company may need a little color to be legal. We support some of them...and their mama and 17 cousins living with them. And so on and so forth.

I don't have negative feelings toward black people. Besides they are sexy....Jews, they are different song. They are very uncharismatic. Even if you try to love them, you can't. Facial expression of Jewish Prime Minister is so fake as you can see on some American faces.

talk is one thing, racist remarks are just uncalled for and there is a difference, most of the people that decide to type a racist comment or remark are usually just people with nothing better to do and don't have a friend in the world kind of people that just become mad and scornful and want somebody to blame other than their own self
