Left handed people are controlled by the right brain. They are generally more creative. It is the new ideas that flow from their minds. They can thus be scientific or artistic.

As far as I know,left-handed people have a greater tendency to be imaginative, which means that they make good artists(cause the brain centers for different arts are on the right hemisphere, which governs people who are left-handed) but also great scientists, because they have more "strange" ideas, the kind that lead to scientific discoveries.
I am left-handed,I study geology and music, but I'm also interested in physics and literature,so I don't lean towards arts more than science, nor the opposite.

The right hemisphere is geared towards language, imagination & visual organisation and controls the motor functions of the left-hand side of the body, not just the hands.
The left hemisphere is the seat of logic, reason, spatial co-ordination & abstract thinking and controls the right-hand side of the body.
Handed-ness is determined by conditions in the womb during pregnancy and has more effect on males than females, who appear to be more resistant to these effects and so retain more control of the basic right hemisphere functions. Thus 1 in 10 men are left-handed but only 1 in 100 women.
The hemispherical distribution of skills also explains why, on average, women are superior in the learning & use of language and thus gain a permanent advantage in 'learning' in general and are multi-tasking.
Men on the other hand are, on average, better at spatial co-ordination and figure more highly in scientific disciplines and high Art, tasks that require single-minded concentration at well above average levels.
Left-handed men and women outnumber right-handers in the Arts because of the magnification of right hemisphere qualities.

A number of genes and other factors influence how the brain gets wired up during embryonic development. Statistically speaking, left-handers are more likely than right-handers to have certain brain functions allocated to the right hemisphere where most people use the left hemisphere, and vice versa. Therefore, it's likely that left-handers tend to have different talents than right-handers.
I recommend the book "Right Hand, Left Hand", by Chris McManus, which has a lot of information about the biology of left-handedness and the view on left-handedness in different cultures etc. One of the best books I ever read, maybe the best.

I am not sure about the scientific bit but i am sure that they have not got a good tendancy to be an artist, as if they move their hand to right (for painting, drawing and so) they will ruin the whole picture.

I'm left handed.
I'm an engineer, but I also taught myself how to play the guitar and piano. So I'm a bit of an enigma, aren't I?
