playstation /2 mice are a lot worse than USB mice. once you unplug a playstation /2 gadget you should restart your computing gadget to apply it back... yet as well this, a USB gadget makes use of a USB port certain, yet when it truly is a intense end mouse it takes two times the flexibility, which could in straightforward words be provided with the help of USB ports on the back of the computing gadget (the front ports are 1/2 wattage). This also signifies that utilizing a USB adapter from a playstation /2 port gained't artwork. So in case you do not choose a properly high quality mouse and do not imagine you'll ever by danger unplug it, then saving a USB port isn't a foul reason behind no longer getting one. you also would stay away from dropping money, yet to be problem-free, playstation /2 mice are previous, you gained't get 1/2 the standard from one which you're going to with a nicely-made USB mouse. that's merely my opinion besides the undeniable fact that, both mice possibilities will do what they're meant to do, one merely would do it more effective acceptable.

For what? If you have a USB device (printer/scanner etc) then use the USB port but if your device comes only with a PS2 cable then fitting a USB adapter will do nothing for it. The advantage of USB and USB2 over PS2 is speed. The data can be sent much faster over USB than PS2 which is why most peripheral devices now are USB. However, it is not just the speed at which the data can be sent to a device, it is also dependent upon how fast the device can actually act upon and recieve the data... if you take a model T Ford and put it on a highway with a 100 mph speed limit, will it go 100 mph? No!

If you have a PS2 port by all means use it for an external mouse and/or keyboard. Save the USB port for faster devices like external storage or even a printer. You can never have enough USB ports.

USB. It's faster and you can connect/disconnect devices without having to turn the computer off. Also...it looks like PS/2 is in the process of getting phased out in favor of USB.

Both work just fine if you are talking about a mouse or a keyboard. For faster data transfer for other hardware like printers, digital cameras or game controllers, consider USB.
