Why do men get erections when they wake up? What is the scientific reason?

Some males wake up with an erection and some don't. Either way, both are completely normal. Studies have shown that men have several erections and arousal periods while in the dreaming phase of sleep called Rapid Eye Movement (REM). Women also experience an arousal response, but it is not marked as easily as an erection is. Also, males are known to have wet dreams (ejaculate) in their sleep and females are known to experience orgasms.
Why this happens in males and females is unknown. Many doctors believe that this may be the body's way of checking itself

I don't know that answer, but I do know that morning erections on a man is the best. They seem to be at their hardest. Plus they just got all rested up. Maybe they had a good dream, but who cares, as long as they're willing to share. Besides morning breathe, morning sex is the BEST!!

a morning erection is usually there to prevent a man from urinating. That is why urinating in the morning before sex makes for a better experience, thats if you have a morning girl, very few of them around humpf

most guys get an erections when waking up they are most likely waking up from a good night dream

Taking one capsule, stronger erections. Direction says you need to be sexually stimulated but I've noticed morning and spontaneous erections like when I was younger. Really thanks to prolargent 5x5 extreme

in the morning when the weather is cold, blood flow to the penis is the most compare to any other time of the day..so, the muscle contracts and the penis erects..
