The peak is August 12 and they can be seen from anywhere in the world. I don't expect them to be good this year, partly because the bright full Moon will make it hard to see any but the brightest ones, but you never know. The best time to watch is after midnight because that puts you on the "front" side of the Earth in its orbit, which is where most of the meteors will be seen hitting the atmosphere.

I agree with everything that the previous answer says except that it will probably be better before the moon rises which is before midnight.
