My Mum buys toys for my kids from charity shops. She keeps the toys at her house and that way they children have always got something different to play with when they visit.
When they've outgrown the toys they get donated back to the charity shop.

They are "second hand stores" not charity shops, and yeah, I shop at St. Vincent de Paul, the local second-hand bookstore, and Goodwill all the time. There are sometimes really good things there that people discard, not knowing they are valuable. There are a lot of people out there who don't know the value of anything and think that because an item needs to have the tarnish removed from it, it must be trash. I've bought all kinds of things at second-hand shops, such as silver and gold jewelry, out-of-production kitchenware, hard to find books, p.c. soundcards, ethernet cards, Windows Professional XP operating system, and many other valuable things. It helps to know what you are looking at and see underneath the dust or dirt.

I do, when we go on a english beach holiday, and we go round the towns, we often go into the charity shops and look round see what's for sale.
I brought
- Clothes
- CDs
- Videos
- Books
- Computer Games
- DVDs
the Items are all used, but if you look, you can find a good bargin.
also, I have donated items too. often it's been old clothes, but I have a few PC games that I cannot sell that I might donate.

Goodwill is all about the $ (money) They won't help an yone who needs it, so I only shop at thrift stores which donate to families who have been burned out.(lost everything to fire)
I find designer brand clothing for one dollar each, located 3 school uniforms for my son, and have a Bassett sofa purchased for only $30. Oh, and the stove I got for $30? ....it's still cooking!
Why not save money whenever you can, and help others in return?
I donate items to these charities....nothing goes to Goodwill!

I love Goodwill, Good Samaritans, Salvation Army and some local shops, too.
I've gotten good-quality clothing, furniture, books, and stuff for the kitchen to cook on and with-for super cheap!!
Go check them out. You'll find the thrift shops in the 'more affluent' neighborhoods have nice stuff that's pretty reasonable.
HAPPY DIGGING!!

I shop at Goodwill sometimes. It's hard to find nice clothes at our Goodwill, so I usually buy books and interesting nick-knacks... things like that. I have found some really nice pottery and beautiful lamps there. Some of the stuff they have is really crappy, but if you're persistent, you can find great deals on stuff. People always comment on how nice my 'accessories' in my living room are... they'd die if they knew where I got them! LOL

I buy books for both me and my baby, toys for my baby and any clothes that I can find for my baby.
I love charity shops, especially for baby clothes, I got three sleep suits last week for 50p each. To buy a pack of three in mothercare its about £10!!

Cloths, usually stuff for work like jeans or trousers that can be trashed. On occassion I've found some really interesting clothing, like a pure silk shirt in my favorite color--purple.
