Normally we do not. It is just when the PH of they vagina changes related to things like douching, urinary tract infections, antibiotics, our body changes the normal bacteria in the vagina to a yeast. Not the baking bread kind but a fungal yeast. The otc preparations work well, but anyone w/ a first time yeast infection should see a doctor. As well a woman who gets frequent yeast infections(more than 3 in 6 months), it could be the sign of a more serious condition. Hope that helped.

Everybody has a certain amount of what they call "yeast" in their body, even babies. It's when an overgrowth of this yeast happens that there can be problems such as thrush and yeast infections. One thing that can cause such problems is antibiotic use. Antibiotics kill of the bad bacteria they are supposed to, but can also kill off good bacteria that your body uses to protect itself from other infections.

The warm, damp environment makes it particularly good for yeast-maybe even for baking bread.
