yeah well if u ask me... MANY americans are just unsympathic to any person that doesn't speek their language, espacially those who want to come in the US... cuz many think that everything in life is about being THE BEST... and since English is the most internationally spoken language on this earth right now.... well they end up thinking it's the BEST language... This might sound stupid to many americans... but i've heard these kinds of remarks so often that u can't just say it's absolutly not true...

And if the problem with illegal immigrants is with the low wages they are whilling to accept... therefore cutting out the "legally poor" population in the country... well they should blame their excessive free-market policies that simply ALLOW employers to pay an 18 year old mexican worker 4$ an hour to do shiit work. Or even less if the work is undeclared.

For a country that simply WOULDN'T have existed in the first place without immigration... it's totally unacceptable. And giving land owners the right to shoot illegal aliens who pass through their land is simply barbaric.

And yeah... many americans also tend to think that if a country is not as rich as theirs, it simply means that the people over there aren't AS GOOD or CIVILIZED or developped (mentally) as they are... therefore sending them back to thinking that they are THE BEST!...

Now i'll take this opportunity to ask another question.... What the hell do they call being THE BEST ??? cuz for me this is something that only applies to sport competitions and dumb award ceremonies... nuf said.

And by the way... i was in no way talking about ALL americans... But with a population of over 270 million, they are bound to having their load of retards like anywhere else.

This is difficult.

first of all, Its hard to believe that in this day and age so many people are so mean to others. its really shocking to me how many people on this website waste their time trying to earn points or being closed-minded and racist.

I think americans don't like the fact that the aliens come here illegally and take jobs away from them. but they don't understand is that their aliens are so happy to have these jobs because they are alot better off from where they came from. The aliens work the jobs that americans don't want. our society wouldn't function without them. these may be stero-typical...but who would build the houses, who would clean our homes, who would cook our food. They should be more sympathtic towards aliens but at the same time i understand why americans are angry cause aliens can cause the crime rate to increase. Some of the aliens are honest, hardworking people trying to make a living and better their lives. Many people believe this is their own way because the waiting list is so long. I think --part of the reason--american are unsympathic because when an alien enters the country illegally they dont pay taxes but when you think about it the aliens have hard jobs with awful pay. I hope this doesn't offend anyone cause thats not my goal.

I think its best if people who want a better life earn it they should take the steps to enter our country legally.

Please, be real. There are millions of people in the world who are poor and desperate. But we can't let all of them into our country because we do not have the resources to support them all. We have trouble with supporting the poor people that are already here! They cannot come into our country illegally, forge documents, take false SS#s, displace legitimate American workers, and put stress and strain on services. What really ticks me off is that they come here *illegally* (illegal = against the law), take advantage of our country and then have the gall to demand amnesty and rights. No, no, no!! They must go through the same legal channels as millions of now-legal immigrants have gone through. What kind of message does it send when we let in millions of illegal law-breakers when others have sometimes spent years getting legal status/citizenship?

There are some more sinister activist Latino groups who want to take over the Southwest. Did you know about that???

This is not a racist issue. This is a law and order issue, and ultimately an issue of self-preservation. We cannot let illegal immigrants flood into our country whenever they want. We have given amnesty in the past and it has only made the illegal immigration worse. If the Senate amnesty bill passes, we are in for a serious population explosion with all the attendant problems. And guess who suffers then?

It's high time the U.S. puts its foot down.

the thing is that Americans feel that the illegal aliens are lowering the standards in the u.s. by accepting lower wages for jobs. this in turn pushes out the poor Americans that are used to getting higher wages for the same job. aliens also tend to send their money back to their country and very little is spent here in America. lastly America is not the welfare of the world. if you come here legally you have every right to get what Americans get but if you come illegally then you don't deserve the same as the person who struggled to get here the right way. to be in America is a privilege not a right.

It can be very frustrating for someone that has fallen on hard times that is a citizen and cannot qualify for assistance through the government. However, if you cross the border illegally, you automatically qualify for benefits of some sort. How can that not generate bad feelings when your own government denies you as a citizen what illegal immigrants get?

I'm sympathetic toward their reasons for wanting to come to the US, but it's hard to feel bad for them knowing that there are thousands of people on waiting lists who are trying to move here the legal way.
also, when our local governments have to go out of their way and spend taxpayer dollars to make things more convenient for non-English speakers, it's very frustrating.

It makes no difference what language you speak, if you are here illegally, you should be shipped out. My grandparents came to America through Ellis Island and could not speak English, but they learned it.

I'm unsympathetic towards anyone who does anything illegal. If you want to come to the US, go through the proper channels. Maybe you should ask if we should make it easier to enter the US through the proper channels.

First of all, I'd LEGALLY enter the country, after having the common courtesy to learn the language of the country I was LEGALLY immigrating into.

Move to Mexico if you think it's so great...IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, YOU ARE MORE THAN FREE (AND WELCOME) TO GET THE HELL OUT!!

Either you miss the point or you're ignoring it. And if life in your country is so bad, fix it.
