Forget it. It's bad enough having the current monarchy. Lets change to a republic, then we can live in a REAL democracy with an elected head of state.

You don't have an immediate claim to the throne. I can tell you that now. Elizabeth II cannot be removed as sovereign simply as you've come forward even if you do have a better claim (very unlikely).

The Act of Union and various others assert the right of Parliament to be the arbiter of who may sit on the throne.

Many people have claimed to be able to document a claim to the throne, mostly through Henry VIII's bastards, or various descendants of James or Charles I or II (Charles II was notorious for pumping out illegimate offspring like a man possessed).

Unless your claim comes from the line of William of Orange and Mary, and via the first born legitimate sons of each successor, you can rest assured that you will never get close to the throne.

The current line of succession numbers 1000 odd members.

The correct people to approach are probably the College of Arms.

The most logic is consult with a lawyer, anyway, if you're not much close to the royal family is a waste of time and money, because the successory line is quite long in all the cases...

If you only want to be recognized like part of the royal family, you may try, but be sure...

Honestly there is nothing that you can do for you are a descendant and how far a descendant are you? There may be others that are closer in relationship than you and they are the one that benefit from being a ancestor. I have many my self going all the way back to Andrew Jackson Who as we know was a president on the great USA and others that fought in the Rev, Civil, WW1 and WW2, I have no rights to any of that for the immediate family and theirs has the right to the throne not us who are related by distance

Don't build your hopes up because you are not alone - there are many of us out there - but that's only to be expected when you consider the low-level of moral behaviour inherent in the royals. My great-grandfather was a duke from the Bowes-Lyon family (the true British royals), complete with country house, extensive land and coat of arms (and the family resemblance is still strong) ...... but illegitmate of course. At least the old man had a slight conscience, he made sure the mother and child never had to worry about a roof over their heads, he bought them a house to live in.

A bizarre question. I think you'll find that all places up to about 2000 in line to the throne are fully occupied by bona fide legitimate claimants. And if you're a woman, then you are likely to be WAY down the pecking order since the male line is followed in every case until there is no further progress possible - as Harry and William start generating offspring, as no doubt they will, then your claim will be still more remote.

I doubt you would get anywhere with any claim to be accepted into the Royal Family .What you would probably experience
is nothing other than a lot of grief.
Would you really like to be in the public eye to such an extent.

My family traced their ancestory back to two different royal families, but unfortunately I think it is so common to find some relation like that that it really means diddly-squat. Look on the bright side, at least it's a cool conversation starter!

Really who cares, the royal family have been money suckers of the people for years, so why not have one more?

I think you'd have to be pretty close in proximity. My family legend is that I'm descended from Mary, Queen of Scots, but I'm not breaking out the crown and scepter just yet.
