With each child (4) I walked, walked and walked and never had a labor over 8 hours and I had 14 yrs between my 1st 2 and my last 2. Of course you will have to stop and stoop with the pain upon contraction but I just kept walking-sometimes slowly, sometimes at a fair pace but it always seemed to speed things up. Good luck and Bless you!

Best to let labor proceed at it's own pace and avoid chemical inducements which tend to lead to unnecessary ceasareans.

Walk, walk, walk, take a rest break, then walk some more. Don't really know what your hurry is. By the time transition hits, you'll be wishing you'd have waited 10 or 15 years. lol

Been there, got the commemorative shot glass. Delivered without meds and within 4 hours of real steady contractions starting.

It's been a couple of years for me, but I think if you get up and walk around it's supposed to help....When I was having my 2nd, I went to the hospital and wasn't too far along (maybe 10 mins or so apart?) and they told me to go walk the floors for awhile until my contractions were around 4 or 5 mins apart. But since everyone is different, even in early stages of labor it could take awhile for things to pick up.

Have sex.
Take a LOOONNNNNGGG walk.
My grandma always told me to take a bumpy ride down a two-track. I'm not sure if that last one works...
but definately sex and walks, and repeat. I wasn't in labor, and did that everynight for a few nights, and I woke up to my water breaking. Good luck!

sweetie, there's not much you can do to speed it up. These things take time.... they can't be rushed! You've waited nine months to see your baby... what's a few more hours?
