You also need software to build the website.... DREAMWEAVER is popular among professional webdesigners, but it's a pain to learn........ much easier is NETOBJECTS FUSION http://www.netobjects.com which is just like using a desktop publishing package.

IF you want to get fancy, FLASH animations can be created, but the software costs a fortune.... thankfully a cheaper alternative is available from: http://3dfa.com/

Uploading is done via FTP (file transfer protocol)..... details to set it up are usually included in the webhost's HELP section, and the software is integrated into the NETOBJECTS FUSION software I suggested.

If you want to make special webpage with special effect then use flash & with flash you have to use dreamwaver. Some hosting sites have own program & it helps to upload easily but you can use MS Web Publishing Wizard to upload your page else visit www.download.com there you will get lot of programs to upload your page.

first get a good host and look into hosting costs...domain name registration and bandwith allowance and cost

then decide what you want on the site and if/any functionality

then look at what is easier/best for you ~ ie html or a flash based site etc etc

uploading is easy enough the webhost should tell you how to do it (should also tell you how to use ftp etc )
