January is a little late. Most of the hiring is done in October, or even earlier. Everyone wants to work at Whistler, because of the 2010 Olympics that will be held there, but it's very expensive and difficult to find a reasonable place to stay. There are several resorts farther inland, Vernon's Silver Star and others, that are likely a better opportunity. Kimberley and Rossland have smaller hills, but they offer good skiing and it's easier to find accommodation.
The ski camps around Invermere, Radium, and Jasper could work for you. They are popular, but not quite as crowded or as expensive as Whistler. The Laurentians are wonderful -- different kind of snow, and different type of skiing, but a great place to be.
Quebec might be a problem if you don't have any French.

Why not send in applications to all of them -- you never know your luck.

Kia ora.

One of the best places to look for work is the Resort Work website. http://www.resortwork.co.uk/job_directory.aspx?scat=8&pro=-1&loc=-1&type=1&live=2&gclid=CKeE6-P20oYCFStUEAodEVRvzg

I would recommend Whistler in Canada, its an amasing resort. One of the biggest, very famous, great apre ski, good for all ages. When I was there Cameron Diaz and Justin timberlake were there on holiday. If you love it you can stay on for the Summer season when they still operate the lifts to do bear walks and helicopter rides. Its very big on Hiking in the Summer.

ignore the previous post- he's an idiot.
There are tons of jobs in the whistler area, but the worst part is finding accomodation- rent is really expensive, lots of workers live in Pemberton and Squamish and commute. January is kinda late, I would send off your resume before you come, it might be better if you came earlier. I don't think you will be homesick at all as there are thousands and thousands of aussies and kiwis at whistler! If you can't find work in Whistler try Banff.

Check out all the ski hills in the kootenays of B.C. Nelson, Rossland, Panorama resort by Invermere is awsome! Rents are a LOT cheaper in these areas. Apply for the jobs asap. Good Luck!

Try getting in touch with some tour operators. I know some UK operators run chalets and the like in Canada, and they sometimes help with accomodation.

You can apply direct over the internet using their application forms.

Try www.neilson.com.

I wouldn't worry about the late start, a lot of people who start in the early part of the season leave before the people come.

It helps if you say who your friends are on your application form!

I was just in Whistler, BC last weekend and there are help wanted posters up at every shop!! Jobs are not the problem....accomodation is. Unless you and about 4 of your mates rent a place, you will be paying huge rent. Banff is always a better option because accomodation is cheaper.

Yes there is a very good chance! Try Big White in Kelowna! It is Australian owned! Lots of Australian and New Zealander work there in the winter

probably very good...employment opportunities are very high here right now..there are signs for help wanted in every window...at least in the Vancouver area..and I'm sure Whistler as well..but you sound like you know the area...accomodation can often be the problem in whistler..soo expensive there.
