Sometimes, esp in shopping centres with air-con, my wife and I experience a small electric shock when our arms brush against each other's. What is the cause of this?

static electricity. drag your feet thru shag carpet then go touch a doornob. the flash of elect is caused by the friction and buildup of static elect in your body

More than likely static electricity. Human beings do not have large charges of electricity, we would die or ruin our nervous system. Our nerves emit power in microvoltsm you wouldnt feel it.
