Other cultures encourage women to express themselves and
showing their bodies (perfect or not). Why is the US so different?

There are subcultures in the USA where open sexuality, and even open seduction, have been prized. If you read one of the histories of the 1960s Commune movement (including those where the guys were expected to take to bed a different girl every time, and it was intended that nobody know which guy was the father of any of the kids) you will get the point. See also http://www.xfamily.org -- the history of the Children of God where open sexuality, sensuality and pubescent sex were encouraged.

American naturism has a proud history, and it is naive to think it has not been connected with open sexuality, although "mainstream" naturism certainly doesn't permit it (i.e., an erection is supposed to be an embarrassment). But likewise there is a subculture. Just as nude dance parties, and what inevitably results, has long been part of American collegiate culture. And Spring Break.

There are, of course, regional differences. Some states have nude beache, others not. (Note that nudity is far more common when away from home -- say in the Caribbean -- than somewhere where your neighbors might see you. Part of this is due to the Scotch-Irish Protestant (Puritan) prudity that has kept Victorian values alive and well in public, but obsolete in private.

I've seen plenty of American women disrobe on European, West African and Caribbean beaches. And, today, there is a wide acceptance for things that even in the wild 60s were little seen. Almost nobody gets prosecuted for "sex crimes" or sodomy in same-age consensual incidents. Or for exhibitionism that is objectively inoffensive (i.e, not on prime time TV, in front of the children, etc.)

Because the US, unlike Europe, still has very strong Christian roots, which frowns upon open and liberal sexuality.

As a Christian, I too conflict with desires, basically as ex-gay Christians combat the desire to have gay intercourse. i think of it extremely is something you may combat with and stick to authentic on your ideals to Jesus Christ. As a Christian, i can declare i'm ashamed that we've a undesirable attractiveness in this branch by utilising different Christian participants forgetting that it is not by using hatred or condemning human beings to hell that human beings will come to Jesus yet by utilising his (love). i visit continuously oppose against been gay, yet i can not gain this with hate. i believe that we could continuously invite gay/Lesbians to church without judging them and enable God tell them why he opposes it or a thank you to alter no longer us. we are no longer God. So i understand the place you're transforming into with this, i'm hoping which you notice for your self that Jesus Christ is kinder and instructors love greater then the human beings have shown on the television. I rather have met some ex gay Christians now married and function toddlers, i understand what they been by using. i do no longer help bullying or something like that. i think of a few Christians, who're youthful interior the educational (who're nonetheless like something of the international) get aggressive with words in attempting to maintain whilst they could't get human beings to pay attention. i think of they have reliable intentions yet incorrect techniques of doing it.
